Mrs. Susan M- Ochieng , Deputy Director, Technical Services – Kenya Accreditation Service
I believe you and I who are here today will be judged harshly if we don’t do anything about the health and safety of the Kenyan citizenry and anybody else who lives in our country today.
Accreditation is important, when I go into a laboratory for a result to inform the diagnosis, I need that result to be accurate, to be within certain uncertainty levels that can inform proper diagnosis .
I want to go to a proper facility that when they handle me, I feel like I am valued and I want that facility to be a public facility, not just a private facility.
So you and I have a role to play in ensuring that whatever we are putting forth and the support that we are going to get from our partners, we can see the fruits of that in years to come. So mine is a plea for those of you who are involved in provision of health care services, whether you are managing facility activities, whether you are managing certification, please ensure that the result or outcome of that activity you are doing is credible and can stand the test of time for us to be able to attest to it.
We are here and happy to be in partnership with GIZ, Ministry of Health (MOH) and National Hospital Insurance Fund (NHIF) who are currently doing accreditation, we will work with you to ensure that the systems we put in place we can all attest to it.2017-02-06
